BOM Analyst II w/ Master Data Analyst Responsibilities Wanted at Marelli

General Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for reviewing, verifying, creating, and maintaining all plant Bills of Materials, initiating action to correct and modify Engineering. Release Authorizations, and to update and maintain all routing standards and work centers.
  • Reviews drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Confers with document originators and/or other engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies and effect required changes to documents.
  • Creates or updates BOM’s per ERA releases and establishes in-house part numbers for sub assemblies, phantoms, and manufacturing reporting.
  • Modify all new part numbers entered into IFS item master by Engineering Services to correctly reflect proper source codes and class codes for manufacturing or shipping of finished goods.
  • Communicates with Engineering on routing standards / work centers as well as updates and maintains routings. Works with Engineering and Production Control on feasibility of reporting a part at a sub-level.
  • Creates Service Part numbers in item master, and structures BOM and input routings.
  • Recognizes the need for, and initiates reports or memorandums to various levels of management.
  • Assists in development of new systems and processes that promote improved quality and / or more efficient and effective work procedures.
  • Inputs effectivity or obsolete dates using either current date or future date while working closely with NPL Specialist and Production Control to adjust or correct dates as needed.
  • Can assist other departments (with Supervisor Approval) with structuring BOM’s and navigating system for information.
  • Provides training for engineering records processes where necessary. Provides assistance to create training materials and then provides the actual training for engineering records processes, and serves as a mentor to others on the BOM process.
  • Investigates and compares internal audit information against ERA parts list releases with DE and insures drawings, ERA release, and manufacturing records are the same. Ensure corrections are implemented on ERA / Drawing or Manufacturing floor.
  • Troubleshoots problem areas to promote continuous improvement in our systems.
  • Performs other duties as instructed.
  • In collaboration with DE, NPL, PC and Finance, assists with the maintenance of the inventory part life cycle codes in the ERP system.
The Incumbent Must
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Technical certification or Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferable.
  • Generally two to five years experience in area of related responsibility.
  • Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
  • Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

Specialized Skills And Knowledge Required
Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
