Job Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and manage overall process sustaining activities for electrochemical processes and equipment. • Analyze data from production and engineering process runs, qualifying changes or additions to manufacturing toolsets and process flows. • Design and execute engineering experiments to either resolve process excursions or to drive process performance improvements. • Continue process optimization and improvement. • Establish disciplined Six Sigma (DMAIC, SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, etc.) approach to improvement and use 8 Disciplines of problem solving or equivalent tools to manage engineering activities. • Interact with manufacturing, materials, and procurement to determine plans for electrochemical requirements and workflow • Works with suppliers to obtain specifications on new equipment, materials, and/or products as need to fulfill customer requirements • Discusses process and material problems and discrepancies with engineering, manufacturing and management staff • Trains team on OSHA chemical safety handling and hazardous waste compliance Skill and Knowledge Requirement • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred • 5+ years electroplating working experience, automotive industry experience is preferred • Strong troubleshooting background and issue resolution • High tolerance of change • Strong teamwork and communication skills
