Position Summary and Responsibilities
Summary:
Provides administrative support to the human resources function in the areas of
HRIS/compensation/benefits, staffing/employment, employee relations, and/or organizational
development and training. Maintains employee hardcopy files. Inputs employee personal data into
human resources information/computer system (HRIS) database. Processes various forms related to
documenting human resources activities such as new-hire, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc. Conducts new-hire orientations. May prepare special reports, such as
insurance, COBRA, OSHA, affirmative action and headcount using HRIS. Provides information to
employees on matters pertaining to their personal employee information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Records employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data,
attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason.
• Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities.
• Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll
and other uses.
• Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
• Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports.
• Administers and scores aptitude, personality, and interest tests.
• Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.
• Coordinates manager's schedule and makes appointments. Arranges and coordinates travel
schedules and reservations.
• Coordinates and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities, and
records and transcribes minutes of meetings.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED. 0-2 years of related clerical and/or administrative support experience
in a similar position required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to
write simple correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
or diagram form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; MS
Office including PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, and Word applications.
Citizenship Requirements
Due to classified work at the facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must
