The PQA (Plant Quality Assurance) Supervisor I is responsible for controlling, correcting, and ensuring an acceptable quality level product is produced at the assigned plant. Also, this position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and delegation of work to any quality technicians who are the position’s direct reports. Position may also perform some of the duties of a Quality Engineer or Quality Representative as needed. Additionally the position ensures maximum floor coverage for production in a timely and effective manner. This position interacts with quality managers and engineers as well as production staff routinely to stay abreast of current concerns.

Essential Accountabilities
- Direct departmental team members in the accomplishment of stated objectives.
- Establish and communicate departmental team member’s individual performance expectations and objectives.
- Supervise and assign task to position’s direct reports.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns / complaints with respect to defective or suspect product that has been delivered to them and establish and facilitate defect containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and provide feedback / responses to the customer.
- Coordinate data collection via testing and measurement with QA lab technicians to assist with root cause analysis and defect resolution.
- Create and / or review and submit all required documentation necessary for PPAP or PSW approval for each production level part sent to the customer.
- Coordinate and / or conduct functional trials with customer when needed for PSW, PPAP, or design change approvals.
- Customer relations including customer audits, soshin meeting and joint checks.
- Support PQE supplier relations including supplier audits for suspect material, in-house meetings.
- Preparation / or review of PPAP documentation for customers.
- Review and determine part quality acceptability and provide limit samples to manufacturing as needed.
- Conduct process review of manufacturing lines and consult with production manager on process maintenance and improvement.
- Supervisory duties including timecards, training, handling employee issues, vacation approval, interviewing, evaluating, etc.
- Setting up new systems such as receiving inspection, dock audit, etc.
- Preparing internal documents such as program review materials, and daily, weekly, or monthly quality reporting docs.
- Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and zero (0) - two (2) years experience in related field
- External - Associates Degree with 2 years supervisory / leadership experience - or - Non-Degreed Candidates require a minimum of 4 years supervisory / leadership experience.
- Internal Non-Degreed Candidates require one (1) year employment with CKNA and a minimum of two (2) years experience in a leadership position in manufacturing. Note - Time spent in a CKNA lead or production specialist position will count toward this two (2) year requirement.
- Certification or license is required in some areas.
- Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
- Have strong communication, administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
- Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
- Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.
