SUMMARY
Functions as a business partner with plant management to effectively manage and control the local business. Lead the financial staff at the plant and be accountable for plant level responsibilities including financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payables, accounts receivable, billings, fixed assets, cost accounting, business analysis, and plant operations. Will also liaison with corporate/HQ financial staff, as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing and directing the day-to-day activity of the Finance department personnel in the performance of their duties, including the processing of all billing, accounts payable, standard cost, inventory, tooling, fixed asset, and other production activities associated with an accounting organization
- Mentoring and assessing the performance of the accounting department's staff, including all performance evaluations, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary action activities
- Developing and ensuring all accounting activities and reporting of financial information follow established processes and procedures, and in compliance with GAAP standards and HQ policy
- Lead role in the month-end closing process for assigned plant manufacturing locations, to meet timely and accurate monthly closing
- Timely and accurately report the current monthly and annual financial results to the plant, sales, and corporate /HQ management in accordance with corporate /HQ formats and time requirements, and analyze the variance between actual and budget/forecast and provide insights
- Ability to lead and deliver comprehensive annual budget data and refresh monthly forecasts throughout the year
- Attend daily plant production meetings and weekly PDCA meetings, provide financial support and insights
- Coordinate with the operations departments to provide a weekly flash report to help the local team to achieve monthly performance
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, new program, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations etc.
- Document and understand ERP/MRP (PLEX) systems and reporting conventions
- Preparation of all local statutory and tax filings in coordination with the corporate/HQ Tax and Treasury as appropriate
- Complete and oversee all audit reporting requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 to 7 years of accounting or costing experience; preferably in an Automotive Manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of experience in a management role
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to directly interact with customers, suppliers & colleagues while providing a professional image
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive thinking and identifying areas of improvement for Accounting team
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours when necessary
