Performs supervisory functions in an electro-mechanical environment while providing support to manufacturing engineering, test engineering and quality engineering. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected to determine methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and work schedule direction for subordinate personnel, furnishing them with general instructions as to the scope and objectives of assignments. Makes work assignments based on individual capabilities and fluctuations in work load and priorities.
  • Applying theories, concepts, and principles of analysis gained through practical experience, and lengthy association with technical persons and educational experiences.
  • Preparation of procedures, reports, OJT forms
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This job has supervisory responsibilities for technical and assembly personell of up to 50 persons with support of lead functions. This includes, but is not limited to training employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving technically related work problems.

Education And/or Experience
Requires a minimum of an associates degree
Requires a minimum of 8-12 years of supervisory experience, or the equivalent in combined education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
