Project Tooling Engineer Wanted at Walker Die Casting

 

SUMMARY:

Manage the design, fabrication, an ongoing support of high pressure die cast tooling utilizing the best possible engineering standards and practices to function efficiently and achieve process-reliable conditions in automated High–pressure Die Casting process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ability to manage the design and manufacture of Die Cast dies, components, & ancillary tooling in support of new or existing programs.

Support activities to ensure tooling is on time, within budget with ongoing efforts to improve quality and uptime.

Responsible for supporting die designs, including replacement dies and new model dies.

Lead cross functional APQP Team at the development stage as well as the full product life cycle to implement designs that will work in the manufacturing plan adopted by all stakeholders. Tooling should be supported as needed to achieve all operating targets.

Participate in the development and implementation of improvement plans that target cycle time reductions, scrap reduction, & down time reduction.

Provide technical support to sales for presentations to customers for potential new business.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Associate’s degree in Engineering Sciences, Tool & Die or equivalent experience - minimum.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences, or equivalent experience - preferred.

REQUIRED:

·      Minimum of  5 years of experience or Degree in Engineering Sciences

PREFERRED:

·      Project Management & APQP Experience

·      Project Management Certification

·      NADCA courses such as casting design, die design, gating, thermal work
