SUMMARY

To procure and plan materials for specific production cell’s, in line with MRP system requirements. The role will monitor and track top running items to allow forecasting ensuring system models are maintained using business intelligence and forecast information.

 

Support factory productions by completing various activities related to job paperwork, cycle counting, inventory transactions and material handling in accordance with established schedules, prioritites and processes.

 

Job Description

 

  • Raise Purchase orders from MRP system ensuring timely placement and delivery of components in line with production planning requirements.
  • Expedite and reschedule open purchase orders to suit production planning requirements.
  • Review historical data including sales trends, research demand drivers, material on time delivery, commodity spends within dedicated production cell.
  • Coordinate research data to identify significant variances. Share, communicate and report on variances to both internal and external supply chain.
  • Interact with production planner and sales to understand demand forecast drivers
  • Use and maintain MRP data as the primary planning system tool
  • Provide input in developing departmental strategies for inventory on existing items, new product introduction and phase outs.
  • Reporting gathered information within production meeting environment
  • Create statistical reports:
    • Gather, analyze and validate data.
    • Share data with relevant departments and external suppliers.
  • Improve relationships among production planners, sales, production supervisors and quality which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and optimizing the forecast to better guide the company.
  • Execute systems and methods to continually improve forecast allowing the company to better anticipate customer needs.
  • Execute with excellence in the area of stock and demand replenishment providing feedback to the supply chain on risks regarding replenishment levels and demand.
  • Perform daily cycle-counts on items determined by ABC analysis
  • Perform due diligence root-cause analysis of any/all inventory discrepancies
  • Make any/all adjustments within Plex ERP system to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Develop/maintain inventory accuracy metrics
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relative work experience
  • Excellent verbal/written communication.
  • Maintain and follow all training requirements
  • Understand and follow all quality, safety and environmental processes and procedures
  • Follow all recycling programs
  • Able to work different hours and shifts as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Use required safety equipment
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Maintain and follow all training requirements.

 

 

 

Job Physical Requirements

 

Sitting: Remaining in the seated position

Standing: Must be able to stand

Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs, or a ladder.

Bending or stooping: Must be able to bend, crouch, or stoop to move boxes or inventory.

Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.

Hand and Finger: Picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling keyboard, or picking up a piece of paper.

Additional physical requirements:  Manual dexterity sufficient to lift and carry boxes and to grasp the handle to use a hydraulic pallet jack and two-wheeled dolly.

 

Visual acuity sufficient to use a computer, to count and verify lot numbers and quantities of parts for shipping.
