The City of Lewisburg is seeking a finance professional to be their next City Treasurer. The City Treasurer is an appointed position by the City Council and is responsible for all City General Funds averaging $11 to $12 million dollars. Position is under the general administrative direction of and evaluated by the City Manager. The position is responsible for the supervision of others and directs the financial activities of the City in overall budgeting, payroll, AP/AR accounting, purchasing, tax collections, debt and cash management, and pension management are a high priority.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or closely related field or in lieu of Bachelor's degree possess five (5) years or more of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting and finance or closely related field. Candidate should have three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience in accounting and financial management.
Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) designation is preferred but must be obtained within 2 years of employment.
