The primary function of the Team Lead is to plan, direct, and execute daily production operations. Work with Operations Manager to ensure daily objectives. Meet and/or exceed daily production runs based on priority given. Monitor production Ambassadors to ensure they understand role, performing at or above expectations, and adjust as necessary through training, and/or realigning tasks of Ambassador to work to their strengths. Hold Ambassadors accountable and communicate up chain-of-command any disciplinary actions required. Team Leaders in this position will be expected to develop and display knowledge, skills, and ability to teach and coach others as well as perform variety of tasks, flex to work needs, drive safely, maintain ongoing positive and collaborative work behaviors, and reliably work all scheduled hours.



POSITION DETAILS

  • Shift Times: Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am
  • Shift Premium: $1.00 shift premium for hours worked on 2nd shift
  • Pay Schedule: Weekly 



HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks and interactions with others.
  • Maintain safe and organized operations.
  • Ensure quality checks are performed and within acceptable ranges based on spec sheets.
  • Monitor inventory levels for raw material and communicate needs prior to any shortages (Foam, Boxes, Bags, etc…)
  • Validate accuracy of product of produced for Dropship to ensure customers receive correct order.
  • Monitor all work orders to ensure accuracy of Finished Goods being produced.
  • Teams with schedulers to understand demand for trade partners and ensure product is ready to load at scheduled time.
  • Participates in daily huddles with other functional areas and production personnel to ensure outlining daily/weekly expectations. Communicates company goals and policies with production teams.
  • Works closely with all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring support of meeting labor standards, quality standards, and adherence to manufacturing specifications.
  • Leads, co-leads, and actively participates in overall plant continuous improvement project planning and execution.
  • Meets production standards, production schedules and documents all activities as required.
  • Assists with performance evaluations, training / coaching, tracking attendance, and administering company policies.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Serves as a leader in implementing world-class safety practices. Ensures all safety policies are followed and report any safety issues to the leadership team. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use 5’s principles
  • Serves as a coach and mentor to direct labor ambassadors in an effort to build a highly effective and cohesive production team.
  • Encourages a fun, creative and positive work environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 - 4 years of previous manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Previous experience operating powered forklifts preferred.
  • Knowledge of various material-handling equipment as asset.
  • Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to use computer and scanning equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand job aids and other instructional material printed in English
  • Ability to lift/move product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work within team environment required.
